The original 1901 Maine State Flag consisted of a pine tree, a symbol of New England and a North Star, a symbol of freedom. This design is based on one of the two known flags from the period that still exist.

            Flag faded

We love the flag but after only a couple of months it’s faded badly. Our next door neighbor just got one from you folks and the two are only a few feet away so the color differences are very obvious.

            1901 Maine Flag

Our flag arrived promptly and was exactly what we hoped for. The colors are sharp and the quality of materials high.

            Love 1901 Maine Flag

I framed it for my wall. It reminds me of growing up in central Maine in the 60’s and 70’s and all my family living there long before that.

            Great Idea; Design Needs Refinement

Thank you for the opportunity to give you this information. (I sent a note to your website but never heard back.) The fabric has no “body” to it and is quite limp/flimsy and droops. Further adding to the droopiness, the two grommets don’t lend themselves to being hung vertically as most garden flags are hung. The grommets would work for a traditional rope/pulley system, which is not how garden flags are hung. Garden flag stands usually have a horizontal rod. The flag typically has a rod pocket, like a tunnel, which is stitched along the left short edge, which then becomes the top edge when the flag is hung vertically. (Picture the rod pocket of most window curtains; that is what your 12x18” flag needs for hanging.) Because your flag is so thin and light weight, it does not hang heavily enough to hold the two grommets in place, at right and left. Instead, the grommets both slide toward the center, all of the edge that is between them sags in a u-shape, and the body of the flag gathers up like a scarf so the pattern cannot be seen. I hope this makes sense and that you can use this description to to make the necessary improvements. Thanks, R McM

I gave flags three times this spring to celebrate special events. Everyone loved them!
